Vision Revision

It’s Church tomorrow but I am not sure I can do this.

Dressed to the tee, bible in my hand pretending to be righteous.

The funny thing is I know I am not alone.

Our worship has become a Sunday morning show.

Week in week out we go only for the high;

Treating God like a dope dealer fiending only for that next high.

Too busy worrying about what others may think;

We are blind to the fact that our brothers and sisters are dying in sin.

We raise our hands, we even say we give our hearts;

 But why, what’s the true motive behind our actions and thoughts?

We are the ones who are to distribute healing but instead we execute hurt.

We are to be the true harvesters but we are lazy we don’t want to put in the work. Commanded to be opened handed to our brothers and sisters, we show disregard.

We say, we are too busy and like the 70’s we say this teaching is too hard.

We see Jane slipping and John about to fall;

And instead of giving a helping hand, we judge and ensure condemnation aids their fall. For that which is true we have traded for lies.

Is there hope for us, what will become of his unfaithful bride?

See the truth of the matter is no matter how bad we mess up he is

still in love with us.

He will cloth us in salvation and declare us righteous.

A royal diadem in the hand of God is our worth.

He longs to give us a new name matched with a new birth.

As a mother comforts her child so he will comfort his chosen.

He will fullfill all his promises because it is written.

He will break the yokes from necks and free bonds.

He will make justice roll on like a river as with true freedom.

He will renew our beauty and bring back life to the body.

He will bind up our broken hearts and call us his anointed.

Our latter will be greater than our former the Lords assures;

His glory will eternally dwell within us and will no longer be left behind the church doors.

The good news will be brought to poor and from darkness the prisoners released.

The lion shall lay with the lamb and on earth there shall be peace.

For mourning, he will give the garment of praise.

How great is our father the ancient of days?

He will bring justice to the nations and bestow his grace to all.

He wills for none to perish but rather to answer his call.

He that has an ear to hear let him hear;

God is gracious and indeed this morning, he is here.
