Battlefield

Standing on the front line, I can see it all,

As I try to figure out the direction where I hear my name call.

Running from what I aspire to become,

Yet forward I tread whatever the outcome.

My commander in chief gave the orders.

I have seen many give up their lives and have now become martyrs.

Edging toward my enemy, my battle weapon drawn.

This isn’t a chess move I will no longer be anyone’s pawn.

I strike from the left I strike from the right.

In the years I lived I’ve never seen such a fight.

The losses are heavy the stats look bad.

I stare in his eyes and I can see he is really mad.

The battle rages on as the night falls.

We’ll fight to the death; this is our life’s call.

Living for yourself is not living at all;

Giving of yourself for someone else is humanity standing tall.

This is a situation where we have to work together,

Forget our selfish ways and put in work for the better.

After numerous defeats the champion still stands,

Fight in his eyes and the sword of victory in his hands.

The KO has occurred after just four rounds.

The enemy has been defeated, if you need proof just take a second to look around.
