The Fairy-tale Too Will End

We live the perfect life.

Before we came forth, we already had our birth right.

Our minds conditioned to freedom by our pretty picket fence.

Our futures planned before we were conceived.

Little did we know how greatly we would be deceived.

We have choices of attaining the best education.

After which, we are liable for the best of the best occupation.

If we are dissatisfied with what we have acquired, we aspire to an Ivy Degree.

Nowadays known as a Master’s Degree.

It’s funny how we take for granted what we really have.

But how can you blame us; this is all we really had.

Poverty has never been an issue.

The only place we saw this was on the CNN news.

Some might say I’m biased. But am I really?

Compare our condition to that of Haiti.

Most of us live in half million type houses.

Our parents drive only the best and only the latest.

People in the East are walking miles just for a drink.

We go to the store buy water and if we don’t like how it tastes we pour in down the sink.

Every term we walk around with the most expensive shoes.

I met some Haitians the other day they can’t even afford shoes.

Let’s not even mention the trends;

If it’s not LRG, Baby Phat, or Lacoste we are not wearing it.

Our brothers and sisters in other third world countries they have the worst of it.

I can speak because I saw and experienced this first hand.

I’m not talking out of turn, someone has to take a stand.

We live today with the notion that tomorrow has to come.

We feel we’re on top and no one can bring us down.

This is a wakeup call to those of you who are sleeping.

Time is running out and lost souls are dying.

This is a reminder to those with knowledge of our current situation;

Move forward, effect change, bring the solution.

Our utopia is about to be wiped away.

The truth made known about our obnoxious ways.

There are many ways in which a fairy tale can end.

Still many are oblivious to the fact that,

This fairy tale too will END.
