The Fallen Role Model
Looking back at the days when you were all I used to think about;
When for every mood I had you had the answer coming out of your mouth.
You were my sky and I was your star.
Every day I searched for my twinkle in who you were.
For some reason, I could identify with your outlook on life.
Coming up a poor child I enviously desired an alternative to my life.
You said that the world was against me and that I believed.
You said the only way to get rich was to sell my body or substitute my hustle with weed.
Your philosophy was when life gets rough, drink your problems away.
I did just that with a bottle of Appleton or a case by the Bay.
If somebody crosses me then they should have to pay.
Don’t take crap from anyone no time, no day.
You see the truth is I wanted to be just like you.
Now when I think about it, I am glad that I am nothing like you.
See following you was going to cost me my life at a very low price;
But thank God, he stepped in and made right.
Fallen role model I am ashamed of you;
I stand stronger and taller not because of anything to do with you!
