Drought

Facing a drought at the edge of Niagara.

Living for the moment, not one second later.

How did I get here and how do I get back?

My heart tells me only one person knows the answer to that.

Living for myself was the way of the day.

Doing me at any cost regardless of what the road signs say. I’ve been strong for a minute that’s all I knew.

Depended on no one but myself I had no clue

That my life was a sham filled with hypothetical scenes.

The cast was fake and exited the stage left when things got difficult;

Onto a different screen.

I tried to live a fairy tale life with all-star cast.

The masquerade ball was real they all wore masks It’s hard to accept life for what it really is.

I have however come to realize many live it like its showbiz.
